One of the few drawbridges in Brandenburg is in Altfriesack. In addition to a lock, it spans the Rhin, which has been developed into a canal. The waterway that connects Oranienburg with Neuruppin emerged from the reign of Friedrich Wilhelm II of Prussia, the successor of Friedrich the Great, and made a significant contribution to the economic boom in the state of Ruppin.
The lock is very picturesque, framed by residential buildings, in the village of Alt-Friesack. Unfortunately, no lock process could be observed at the time. 😢
The old drawbridge at the lock is also super exciting. Interesting technique! 🤩
