The Baarbach, also known as Lägerbach, is a stream about 17.6 kilometers long. It rises in the Iserlohn city forest and flows through several districts of Iserlohn before flowing into the Ruhr. The stream has a gradient of about 18 per thousand and carries a large part of Iserlohn's wastewater along its course, which is treated before flowing into the Ruhr.

Historically, the Baarbach was piped in the city center of Iserlohn in the 18th century to make room for urban development. A plan to renature and ecologically improve the stream was initiated in 2010 to restore the natural course in certain areas and improve water quality.

For cyclists and hikers, the area around the Baarbach offers various interesting routes, including a route from Schwerte to Iserlohn. This route leads through picturesque landscapes and offers a varied insight into the nature and geography of the region.
