    Even though I mainly ride my mountain bike in Donji Milanovac, some of my scenic highlights here can also be reached with a good trekking bike. And above all worth a visit. So while you're here, take a day and explore the area, it's not a national park for nothing. So check out the mountain bike highlights too!
    If someone has any problems with their bike, I can warmly recommend Miko‘s bike shop in town. Miko is a mountain biker, knows his way around bikes and is happy to help.

        Donji Milanovac is a small town in eastern Serbia. It is located on the right bank of the Danube, near the Iron Gate. There is a cheap hostel, a hotel, beach, bus station, shops, several bars and a very good reasonably priced fish restaurant about 1 km outside in the direction of Golubac. where I ate the best Danube fish on my tour.
        In the tourist information you can register for guided walks in the Derdap National Park or for a boat tour through the Danube gorge. I have made a short but crisp hike (Veliki Strbac) through the National Park with spectacular views of the "Iron Gate" and then a boat tour.
        Definitely worthwhile.
        The Derdap National Park borders the banks of the Danube on the Serbian side between Golubac and Kladovo and covers an area of over 60,000 hectares. On the other side of the Danube in Romania is the neighboring nature park "Iron Gate". Both nature reserves will form a cross-border biosphere reserve in the future, in order to protect the unique flora and fauna in the Danube region of Serbia and Romania. These are over 1,000 plant species and rare or endangered species such as brown bears, wolves, golden jackals, lynx, wild boar, black storks and several species of owls.
