Defensive walls surrounded the entire urban area with an area of approximately 16 ha. The total length of the circuit was originally approximately 1,620 meters. From the outside, Mieszkowice was protected by natural terrain obstacles in the form of two lakes from the east and west, connected by a stream to the Kurzyca River. So there was no need to build a moat. The original height of the wall was around 6-7 meters. There are 49 horseshoe and rectangular half-towers around the perimeter of the walls
To this day, the walls have been preserved on a large part of the perimeter (1,510 meters), with a height of up to 5-7 meters in places. Most of the half-towers and one closed Powder Tower in the south-eastern corner have survived
