Inside Dongshan Park is an American made C-47B plane on display. It was gifted to Chiang Kai-Shek in 1947 by the US administration. It has flown many missions for the Kuomintang (the nationalist party) against the communists. It was also frequently used by Song Mei-Ling, the wife of Chiang Kai-Shek, hence its name.
It fell into the hands of the PLA, was later retired and in 1986 put on display in this park.
