The blocks visible here are called 'dragon's teeth' and were used to make passage impossible for Allied tanks.

A little historical background:
The Siegfried Line, or Westwall, was a defense system stretching over 630 km, with more than 18,000 bunkers, tunnels, and dragon's teeth. It stretched from Kleve on the Dutch border to Weil am Rhein on the Swiss border, along the western border of the former German Empire. Adolf Hitler planned this line in 1936 based on the work of Fritz Todt and had it built between 1938 and 1940. In fact, the Westwall comprised several defense lines. Initially, the structures consisted of simple, lightweight bunkers, but became increasingly imposing as Hitler ordered. This construction took place after the remilitarization of the Rhineland and once again violated the Treaty of Versailles and the Locarno Agreements. After the Battle of France in May-June 1940 and the occupation of Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and the northern half of France, the need for the Westwall receded into the background. The borders of the Reich were no longer the same. During the construction of the Atlantic Wall, many of the armored structures (gates, battlements, slabs, etc.) were dismantled to be installed on these new fortifications (along with the Südwall from 1943). However, after the Normandy landings (June 6, 1944), Hitler hastily called upon the Hitler Youth to repair it and build new bunkers in anticipation of the Allied armies' approach to the borders of the Reich (September 1944).
