This splendid road takes you, via a detour of several hundred kilometers, to Argentina via Chile Chico. It takes you to the port of Puerto Ingeniero Ibáñez. Ferries from the port of this town then cross the third largest lake in South America. The other way to get to Chile Chico is, from Cerro Castillo, to go around Lake General Carrerra to the south. This adds an additional 300 kilometers of ripio.
