The Sella dam is a hydroelectric structure located in the canton of Ticino near the San Gottardo Pass. It was built in 1947 to exploit the waters of the Sella river for energy production.
The Sella reservoir can be easily reached from the Gotthard by bike (and of course on foot) on an asphalt road. A tour around the lake is possible, as is the climb to Giubin (the latter on foot, of course).
