The wall found on Loreto Street was part of the palace of the Inca Huayna Capac, known as Amaru Cancha, which translates to "House of the Snake".
This site was built in the Inca period, but with the arrival of the Spanish it was replaced by the construction of colonial houses that still maintain the stone base.

Calle Loreto, also known as Intik'ijllu (in Quechua: Alley or Street of the Sun). On one side there is a large and solid Inca wall. The construction is attributed to the Inca Huayna Cápac. Likewise, the street bordered the “Acllahuasi” (House of the Chosen), a place where the “Virgins of the Sun” were in the monastery and worshiped the sun.

Loreto Street or Intik'ijllu (from Quechua: alley or street of the sun) is a street in the Monumental Zone of the city of Cusco, Peru. It is known for the Inca walls that are preserved today.
The opening date of the street is unknown, but it is known that it existed during the Inca Empire, since it was the street that separated the Amarucancha, the palace of the Inca Huayna Cápac, from the Palace of Aclawasi. The street serves as an example of how Inca urban planning was designed through large fields delimited by stone walls.
The street received the name Loreto because it adjoins the Chapel of Our Lady of Loreto, located next to the Church of Compañía. Since 1972, the street has been part of the Monumental Zone of Cusco, declared a Historical Monument of Peru. Likewise, in 1983, as part of the historic center of the city of Cusco, it was part of the central area declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and in 2014, when it was part of the Tawantinsuyo road network, it was declared a World Heritage Site again.
