Pont de Molins is a small municipality located right in the heart of Alt Empordà, in the middle valley of the Muga River, and its natural environment brings together several routes and paths ideal for cycling. Furthermore, being a town steeped in history, there are several points of architectural interest to visit, such as the church of Sant Sebastià, the canonical church of Santa Maria del Roure, the Pont Vell (Old Bridge) or the Molins castle, among others.

Essentials

As its name indicates, Pont de Molins links part of its history to the existence of the mills that used the waters of the Muga river, so you should not miss the Closa, La Roca, Son and Jordà mills. Also interesting is a visit to the remains of the canonical church of Santa Maria del Roure and the castles of Molins and Montmartí.

Suggestions

Enjoy a walk along the banks of the Muga river as it passes through the municipality and discover the locks of the Calvet mill and the Jordà mill, which allow you to understand how the river's flow was used. Likewise, you cannot miss taking a good walk through the town center and discover its historic farmhouses and mansions, such as Can Cufí, Can Nei, Can Jordà or the Sant Lluís flour mill.
