Strong, formerly known as the Toothpick Capital of the World, is a small town located along the Sandy River. The Strong Wood Products Incorporated plant produced 20 million toothpicks per day! The town is named after Caleb Strong, a Founding Father of the United States and governor of Massachusetts.
