Can Valls is a historic 16th-century farmhouse, expanded in the 19th century, located in the Olzinelles Valley, near Sant Celoni. Its natural setting is exceptional, with ornamental and native trees of large size thanks to the climate, the protected environment, and the care of the owners.
The trees include cedars, beeches, plane trees, poplars, oaks, holm oaks, and shrubs such as the buckthorn. A walk around the estate reveals the plane tree avenue (24 trees over 36 meters tall in 2004), which leads to the Aranyal pond-washhouse, home to green frogs and duckweed (Lemna minor).
In the past, next to this pond was the "carrocera," a facility for storing and repairing carriages and housing barrow carriers. Also noteworthy is a gazebo that was once a well.
A quote from 1908 recalls the hospitality of Mr. Piu de Can Valls, known for helping the needy and allowing neighbors to collect firewood or celebrate popular festivals such as May Day in the forests and springs of Arenyal and La Pega.
