The museum allows you to learn about the history of the ancient primitivo vine. After genetic research, it is believed that primitivo was introduced to the Italian Puglia in the 18th century as an independent clone.
Archaeological finds indicate the cultivation of vines (Vitis vinifera, which includes primitivo) in the region on the border of Europe and Asia, between the Black and Caspian Seas around the Caucasus Mountains, already around 6000 BC.
