The "park on the doorstep" is part of the Duisburg-Nord green belt, which enhances the districts of Bruckhausen, Marxloh and Beeck, which are shaped by the steel industry. An open people's park was created from the redevelopment area with numerous empty, decaying old residential buildings, which connects industry and residential development and creates free space and buffers - a clear plus for the north of Duisburg.

Park opened in May 2016 between the Auguts-Thyssen-Hütte and the remaining district of Bruckhausen. It originated largely on the area of the former western part of the district.
Pair of photos from the time BEFORE the park completion from the years 2002 to 2013 are in the process of clarifying the extent of the transformation; the buildings there are gone.
