Røros is a town with a very long history as a mining town. Copper mines operated around the city for centuries. A museum bears witness to this. However, it is just as interesting to look at the remains of the mines on site. The old buildings, the remains of the Transbort railway columns can still be seen, and some have QR codes and signs that provide information. The mines can be reached on foot from Røros with a longer hike there and back, but you can also park by car and then walk from pit to pit. The Olavsgrube even offers underground tours.
