The Farrnbach is a 22.6 km long, left and west tributary of the Regnitz in Bavaria. Today the Farrnbach is increasingly addressed in a masculine form ("the Farrnbach"), but historically correct - as with the Kirchfarrnbach - the female form. It is a fine-material, carbonate low mountain stream of the Keupers.

he brook rises about 1.4 kilometers south-southwest of the Wilhermsdorf district of Kreben as a small stream in the area of the Entznersweiher. The Hardbach stream flows along the Hardbach ponds in an arc to the northeast towards Kirchfarrnbach. In the south of the village comes the Untere Krebener Graben from the left; from this confluence the water is called Kirchfarrnbach. The (or the) Kirchfarrnbach flows in a northeasterly direction between the Dillenberg and the district road FÜ 11 past the Wittinghof to Keidenzell. In the south of Keidenzell comes the Dürrnfarrnbach from the left; from this confluence the water is called Farrnbach. It now flows in an easterly direction between the Dillenberg and the district road FÜ 16 to Hammerschmiede and flows through the Dream Lake, an approximately two hectare pond, southwest of the town
