Roche Parstire is the first summit on the soaring mountain ridgeline that runs between Col du Pré and Mont Coin in the Beaufortain massif. The trail that follows the ridge offers gloriously fun, fast, undulating running with amazing views in all directions.
The summit is marked with a cross and signpost and stands at 2,108 m (6,916 ft).
Exceptional 360° view, on one side on the dam, on the Mont Blanc massif (majestic), on the other on Les Saisies, Arêches-Beaufort etc. Sometimes dizzying views.
Fairly easy course except for the final ascent of La Roche, quite a steep spur!
Softer return via the mountain bike trail.
The ascent over the north ridge requires sure-footedness and a head for heights. The marked path is much less steep and exposed than the shortcuts directly on the ridge. It's worth taking a close look to find the better way.
