The Palouse to Cascades State Park Trail follows the Yakima River along this stretch, and there are two wonderful old rail tunnels here. Grand portals cut under the hillsides. Tunnel 48 is relatively short, but Tunnel 47 is long enough and curved enough to require some kind of light on your bike. Great views of the river all along the way.
