The Serbian Orthodox Morača monastery from the 13th century on the gorge of the same name between Podgorica and Kolašin is for many the most beautiful monastery in Montenegro thanks to its wonderful frescoes and its fantastic location.
In addition to the Church of the Assumed Mary, the St. Nicholas Chapel next to it is well worth seeing.
There are rest areas and a small kiosk. Entry was free.
The monastery complex consists of a cathedral church dedicated to the Assumption of the Mother of God, a small church of St. Nicholas and the residential building. The portal of the monastery is surrounded by a high wall with two gates and can be visited. The view over the monastery to the mountains is great.
