The nature park, used for many years as a pasture and wood yard, was laid out and planted by General Wergeland and his soldiers between 1870 and 1890. There are walking paths, floodlit trails, fitness trails, a trail for the disabled, forest trails, cultural trails, bathing spots, fishing waters, vantage points and a lively bird and animal life.
The Baneheia nature reserve is located above Kristiansand. A few minutes after crossing the city center you are already in this idyllic environment. Steep hiking trails require a certain level of fitness. Once you reach the higher level of the rocks, you can let your gaze wander over Kristiansand. fantastic! In the further course of this natural oasis you will find numerous hiking trails and bathing lakes. There will definitely be a lot going on here in summer.
