The refuge was restored after being devastated by the storm of 2009. It is called a “refuge” but it is in fact an unguarded cabin with fairly basic equipment. It is essential to have your own duvet and mattress to sleep on.

Refuge forestier d Arreau ou Areou - Ustou is next to Port d'Aula and is located in Département de l'Ariège, Midi-Pyrénées.
Built in 1957, it's only functional in winter. But is has a table and small place protected from the elements to spend the nigh in summer.
