The Lion Fountain in Idstein is the secret star that simply can't be missed! You'll find it strategically located directly on the way from the castle or the Union Church down to the old town, a must-see on your half-timbered tour. My tip: take a close look! It stands on King Adolf Square, the vibrant heart of Idstein. The fountain itself dates back to 1888 and depicts the Nassau lion, proudly holding its coat of arms to the world—a true symbol of the ancient principality. But the best part is its backdrop: It forms the perfect foreground for a photo that captures all of Idstein's splendor—the lion in the foreground, with the colorful ensemble of the Leaning House, the town hall, and the magnificent Killingerhaus behind it. Stop for a moment, fill up your water bottle while the water is running, and enjoy the hustle and bustle around you.
