Nice church in my home village. The French linden tree stands directly in front of the cemetery gate: a tree that you can walk into. We played a lot here as a child. The tower was completely rebuilt in the 1990s.

The single-nave church building in Bargischow is made of fieldstone and brick and was originally built around 1300, destroyed during the Thirty Years' War, and rebuilt at the end of the 17th century. The relatively plain interior of the church (as is the case with most Protestant village churches) is topped off by a simple wooden ceiling.

The single-nave church structure is typical of rural churches in Western Pomerania with a charming combination of field stone and brick, and the architecture of the west tower, a short nave and a rectangular choir. The nave and the choir were originally built around 1300 during the Christianization of Pomerania, destroyed during the Thirty Years' War and rebuilt at the end of the 17th century. The latter stage of construction also includes a half-timbered tower filled with brick and a pointed cupola. In 1877, the church was thoroughly renovated for the first time. Above all, however, a thorough renovation of the tower in the early 1990s, urgently needed due to the risk of collapse, initially made the sacred building seem stable and safe. But as soon as you walk around the church building, you will notice clear signs of decay that signal the need for action: two cracks in the wall that cannot be overlooked on the south side of the nave, and trees growing out of the wall on the north side. In the grass in front of the church you stumble over fallen tiles.
