The Alme between Niederntudorf and Borchen regularly falls dry in summer, leaving an impressive river bed behind. Only in autumn with the abundant rainfall, when the karst bodies in the subsoil are filled, the alpine pastures can flow again on the surface. In some places you can only guess that water normally flows here. Large amounts of tree trunks and branches fill the dry gutter. The dead wood protrudes from the bank down into the river bed.

Here the Altenau flows into the Lippe tributary Alme on the north-western outskirts of Nordborchen. Another short "side arm" is the wages. Very nice to watch from the bridge.

Today we only enjoyed 40 km from PB to Weine from the wonderful Alme cycle path. We will certainly expand that very soon. Great landscape, great paths!
