The German Gate (French Porte des Allemands) is located in the French city of Metz, Lorraine. The gate, the only one of 17 medieval city gates of the Metzer city wall has been preserved, was named after the adjacent former hospital of the Teutonic Order, which was set up around 1210 near the church of St. Eucharius (Saint-Eucaire). The name would therefore also be translated with Deutschherrentor. The Torburg formed the main entrance to the city of Metz from the east.

The Porte des Allemands is a fortified city gate to the east of Metz. It served as a bridge over the Seille from the 13th century to the beginning of the 20th century. The building is today the most important vestige of the medieval ramparts in Metz and bears witness to the evolution of military architecture in Metz in the Middle Ages.

The gate is named after the nearby hospital of the Teutonic Order. On the city side, the gate consists of two narrow round towers built in 1230, which in terms of architectural style bears a resemblance to the almost equally old Helpoort in Maastricht. These towers are connected by a bridge over the Seille to a crenellated tower that was built in 1445.
