I think that this excursion in the 5 Terre and beyond is a classic to do by bike, in this strip of land suspended between the mountains and the sea. It must be said that you will not pass through the characteristic colorful villages clinging to the rock that drops into the sea, but you will often travel along a road that follows the ridges and slopes of the mountains with splendid views of the sea and the villages. This is because the seaside villages are connected to each other by paths and steps that cannot be done by bike and reaching them with the asphalt roads means losing a lot of altitude to the sea and then going back, much better to visit them on foot or with the help of the railway.
You start from the Framura station, reachable by train from La Spezia, where you immediately take the Mare Monti cycle path, which develops in the site of the former railway.
