Drangajökull is the only glacier in the Westfjords. It is the only glacier in Iceland whose height is entirely below 1,000 meters. In addition, it is the only glacier in Iceland that is not retreating (i.e. getting smaller). Drangajökull is north of the Strandir region and south of Hornstrandir Nature Reserve. Kaldalón, on the other hand, is a short fjord into which the glacier calves. The name literally means "cold lagoon" and is absolutely magical. You could think of it as the Jökulsárlón of the Westfjords - although it is very different and visiting is a much more personal experience. westfjords.is/en/place/drangajokull
