The unfinished obelisk in the granite quarry of Aswan has a height of 41.75 meters, at the base a length and width of 4.2 meters and a weight of about 1168 tons.
The obelisk is very impressive, especially considering how long people worked on it, only to find out that it was cracked and couldn't be put up near the end of the work.
The enormous, unfinished obelisk was supposed to be one-third longer than any other obelisk in Egypt. It was to be 42 meters high and weigh 1,200 tons. It was erected by Queen Hatshepsut between 1478 and 1458 BC and was intended for the Temple of Karnak. It is made of red granite, which was also used in the construction of pyramids. However, due to numerous cracks in the granite, it was never completed.
