Mettingham Castle is a scheduled monument and a grade II listed building.

It used to be a fortified manor house and the castle was largely demolished in the 18th century.

Today the gatehouse still survives, as well as some of the stone walls and many of the surrounding moats and earthworks.

The castle is now a private residence but you can see the gatehouse from the entrance on the road.
