The 'Greenwood Conservation Area' is located in the area of the city of Ajax east of Toronto. An area of 600 acres in the valley of Duffins Creek was designated a conservation area by the Metro Toronto Region Conservation Committee in 1958. The protected area falls under the jurisdiction of the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority. The authority oversees approximately 3,500 km2 in a total of nine water catchment areas in the region with a focus on the conservation and management of natural resources.
