The old stone building still exists from 1860, later the whole mill was totally renovated and therefore still in full working order. Once a month it is opened to visitors, and you can watch and buy flour.

The Vartorp mill is about 25 km north of Växjö. Vartorp's mill is just outside Rottne at the mouth of the Mörrumsån river in Övrasjön. The old fine stone building from the 1860s has now been completely renovated and is fully functional. Today it is owned by the municipality of Växjö.

In the agrarian society, the mill was an important branch of the economy for a long time. In modern times after the Second World War it fell into disrepair, but has since been restored and is under the care of Söraby Hembygdsförening. Once a year there is an open day in the mill on the day of the water wheel. The water wheel turns powerfully on its shaft, bread is baked in the miller's stone oven and you can see the mill and the surroundings.
