"More than two years ago, thanks to the efforts of the no longer existing department for the protection of monuments and cultural heritage of the City Hall in Police, in cooperation with the Sołecka Council, a wooden cross with an information plate was erected at the cemetery in Drogoradz. It was located centrally, between two necropolises: the former Evangelical cemetery in Hammer and the post-war, now closed Drogoradz cemetery.

The municipal initiative released the positive energy of the inhabitants, who decided to restore the necropolis. While the post-war Catholic part, despite the end of burials in the late 1950s (the last grave is dated 1958), is still fairly well-kept - the symmetrically located Evangelical part was practically invisible. A few stone fragments of tombstones sticking out of the grass, slightly more visible in autumn and early spring. Apparently nothing remains of the old graves.

The older inhabitants of Drogoradz remembered, however, that the Evangelical cemetery, although devastated, was not completely destroyed. It fell into neglect, and then ... disappeared from the face of the earth, defeated by the lush, forest nature.

Based on this memory, the Village Council in Drogoradz, with the help of a few residents, started the search and after very hard work, many tombstones and elements of cemetery sculpture were found under a layer of sod. To the joy of the searchers, inscriptions have been preserved on many of the plaques, making it possible to determine not only the names of the buried, but also the date of the funeral, which allows us to reconstruct the history of the cemetery. The found heads, tombstones and other elements were used to build a lapidarium around the wooden cross.
