The chapel is located directly by the sea, between St Pierre and St Guénolé. Sentinel monitoring the sea, it is dedicated to the Virgin. The sailors came to thank her for saving them from the storms. During the pardon which took place on August 15, they paraded bareheaded and barefoot. This building dates from the end of the 15th century.

The Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-la-Joie between Saint-Pierre and Saint-Guénolé was built at the end of the 15th century, directly on the ocean. The name of the church stands for the gratitude of the sailors to the Virgin Mary for saving her from storms. In the massive bell gable on the western, the sea-facing side, there are only three small windows. The two side towers are asymmetrical, one octagonal and the other cylindrical. The interior is also remarkable: the oak roof shows the shape of a (turned) boat hull. On the trusses ship models hang as votive offerings.
The Calvaire on the south side of the church dates back to the 16th century.
