The small town of Munster is characterized by the fact that it is the fourth largest location of the Bundeswehr. It is located between the military training areas Munster-Nord and Munster-Süd. Parts of this practice area are passable outside the shooting times, which you recognize by the fact that the barriers are open. Once a year, the "people's cycling" takes place over the military training area. In Munster there is a tank museum. Munster itself is quite rural and is quite suitable for a small ice or coffee break.

In addition to the mill pond near the city center, you can also recommend the Flüggenhofsee. This lake is a little more remote, on the northeastern outskirts of the city, very close to the train station.
