The Maria Traum pilgrimage chapel with the miraculous image and some folksy images and figures as well as an Arma Christi cross was built in 1817. It belongs to the parish of Kumreut. A farming family from Kleinwiesen had the small wooden chapel built to commemorate miraculous events: it was said that a few hundred years ago the image of the Virgin Mary from the chapel in Großwiesen moved as if by magic to a large stone on which the Mother of God sat. No matter how often the picture was brought back to Großwiesen, it always found its way back to the stone. It only stopped when the chapel in Großwiesen was rebuilt.

About 20 years ago the chapel burned down and was rebuilt around the big stone with the footprint of the Mother of God. There is also an accumulation of granite stones near the chapel. It is said that every pilgrim used to bring a stone - a ritual that is not only found in Christian culture.
