The Palacio Estévez, also known as Casa de Gobierno "Edificio Independencia", is a building in the Uruguayan capital Montevideo.
The building, whose date of construction is not specified, is located in Ciudad Vieja, at Plaza Independencia 776, along the Florida, San José and Ciudadela roads. Information about the architect is not available, as the author of the construction project is called Edouard Manuel de Castel. The building, originally designed as a residential and commercial building for the businessman Francisco Estéves, was subject to structural alterations in the years 1875 and 1987. For the former, engineer Juan Alberto Capurro, responsible for latter architect Enrique Benech. During the reign of Lorenzo Latorre, the Palacio Estévez was purchased by the state. Meanwhile, he serves as the seat of government. Upstairs is a museum.
