The B188 is heavily used (around Gifhorn and Wolfsburg, 90% of it is made up of VW cars 😅), so the bike path does have its advantages. The surface is suitable for road bikes.

A good bike path along the B188 between the junction to Leiferde and Meinersen. From time to time the bike path is a bit bumpy and narrow but still easy to ride on. Shortly before Meinersen, bitumen transverse joints set the pace at 45BPM.

The bike path is rideable with the racer, but the condition with the transverse grooves and the sections with cobblestones is annoying, but unfortunately the main road is not an alternative either.
