Thasos or Thassos (Modern Greek: Θάσος, Fásos; second case of Thasu) is the northernmost island in the Aegean Sea. It covers an area of 379 km², the circumference of the island is approximately 100 km long and the population is approximately 14,000. The capital is Limenas (also called Thassos) on the northeastern coast.
