Julius Tower - pumping station at the Oder Bollwerk
Even today, the modern pumping station located in the tower ensures the discharge of all sewage collected here from the old town of Schwedt and adjacent new urban areas on the basis of the disposal network planned in 1907.
1901- The government in Potsdam and the military demand that the city of Schwedt set up a central water supply and sewage system - otherwise there is a risk that the dragoon regiment will be withdrawn
1907- The Schwedt city council decides to build on the basis of the repeatedly changed plans of the company "Heinrich Scheven, Technisches Bureau in Düsseldorl"
1908- After evaluation of the offer, the company Schaven builds the tower as a pumping station and cleaning plant with the construction of the city's sewage system, discharge of the dirty water first into the Westoder.
1927- Construction of a culvert pipeline after a long planning period to the fast-flowing Ostoder in the direction of Niederkräning and commissioning on October 5th, 1932

The Julius Tower is part of the city's first sewage treatment plant. Construction of the plant in 1909 created a two-story, octagonal structure crowned with a spire, featuring a pumping station and treatment plant in the former Haveling area, a small fishing port. Wastewater was initially discharged into the West Oder River, and after 1927, with the construction of a culvert, into the East Oder. In 1965/1966, the pumping technology was upgraded, and a pressure line was laid to the new sewage treatment plant on the outskirts of the city. A partial renovation, reconstruction, and renewal of the piping and pumping technology took place between 1989 and 1995. The roof structure was demolished between 2008 and 2010 and reconstructed, including the decorative gables destroyed during the war. The exterior facade and base were also fundamentally renovated.
