"Jakob" was installed as the 10th stair beetle in 2010.
Sometimes you just need to rest. A pilgrimage like this is tiring, so Jacob can dangle his legs from the stairs in peace and watch the pedestrians along Rautenstraße.
The design was created by Kerstin Westerhaus. The figure was funded by the Diakonie in Nordhausen "Stiftung Maria im Elende" GmbH.
There are 24 other stair beetles, one of which is unfortunately missing.

This stair beetle has been presenting itself as a lion since 2024. Just like his creators and sponsors, the members of the Nordhausen Lions Club. Their financial support supports many projects. Lionell also seems to love giving and brought a smile to my face.
