The Church of St. Peter and Paul is the second oldest church on the island. It was consecrated by the former Bishop Egino of Verona in 799. Its interior was richly decorated from the very beginning. The painting in the apse, still visible today, dates from 1104-1105 and is divided into three sections. The uppermost section depicts the Majestas Domini, accompanied by the symbols of the four evangelists. Around 1750, the church underwent a comprehensive redesign in the Rococo style.

The second oldest church on the island by the time it was built is St. Peter and Paul.
It was consecrated in 799 as the foundation of the former bishop Egino von Verona, who came from the Alemannic noble family.
The church as it exists today is a three-aisled basilica. It was partly built on the old foundation walls in the 11th century after the old St. Peter's Church was demolished.
