The church was mentioned in a document in 1371. The church was rebuilt around 1490. The late Gothic core of the church was converted into Baroque style. The church, which had been a branch church of the Hartkirchen parish church for a long time, was elevated to a parish church in 1784 and has been part of the Eferdinger Land parish since 2023.
