The Abbey of Santo Spirito al Morrone, better known as Badia Morronese, was for many centuries the main and famous settlement of the Celestines, and represented the vital center of the cultural, religious and civil life of the region. The monumental complex, extending over an area of 16,600 square meters, is located in the foothills of Morrone, in a territory that has always been sacred and in close relationship with the hermitage of S. Onofrio and the Sanctuary of Ercole Curino, both a few steps away on the mountain.
