It is an ancient crossroads between the Ionian and Tyrrhenian Seas and represents the gateway to the Aspromonte Park. In the village on the left, almost uninhabited, lives Frà Damiano, the caretaker of the Church of the Assunta, which is now a point of reference for all cyclists and wayfarers who pass through this magnificent place.
