The Colonnaden are one of the oldest pedestrian zones in Hamburg and exude Italian flair with their arcades. The magnificent street has been reserved for pedestrians since 1974. The Colonnaden are mainly home to small specialist shops.
The Colonnaden impress with their impressive Wilhelminian-era houses and white neo-renaissance facades. Nestled between the Jungfernstieg with the Inner Alster, the Gänsemarkt and the Hotel Fairmont Vier Jahreszeiten, the Colonnaden are still characterised by urban diversity.
There are numerous restaurants and cafés in the Colonnaden, which also offer sunny seats on the outdoor terrace in summer. There is a wide variety of offerings.
Although the Colonnaden are very centrally located in the city, things are very relaxed here. This is not just because the Colonnaden is a pedestrian zone. The street cafés, the arcades and the many small specialist shops also contribute to the calm atmosphere.
