From the military officials who were stationed there (as at all ship piers), I learned that no boats will dock here today and probably for the next few days ("Mega Thalassa" - too high waves).
Since my diamoniterion (= residence permit) would expire that evening, I actually wanted to go back to Ouranopolis; Now I had to change my plans: Overnight stay in the monastery of Chilandariou (if the monks there tolerate it at all with an expired Diamoniterion), walk to the south coast of the peninsula, which is more sheltered from the wind, and return to Ouranopolis.
The monastic republic can only be reached by sea; the land route is almost impossible and strictly forbidden.
