The Balma de l'Espluga is one of the symbols of the destructions committed against the natural and archaeological heritage of Sant Llorenç del Munt and the Serra de l'Obac. Unfortunately, what we see today is not the structure that once covered one of the bushes of the hill to form a small farmhouse. What we can see today are walls built in the early 80's with the purpose of closing two large pergherons and some mules. These cargo animals were used for a couple of years to drag the trunks of the thousands of oaks and oaks that fell victim to the great logging carried out on the Matarrodona estate before being sold to the BCN Provincial Council.

For this reason, the Balconies of Espluga are the symbol of a double crime: against the natural heritage (due to the massive felling of trees) and against the archaeological heritage (due to the destruction caused in the ancient ruins).
