This high point is the administrative border between Castro Verde and Mértola. Deserves a visit by bicycle.

A fairly steep but easy climb to the Senhora de Arecelis church. At the top there is a shaded seating area with a kiosk. A toilet with a fantastic view and water to fill up your bottles (if the kiosk is closed). If you go up the steps to the church, you will have a great panorama of the Alentejo. Highly recommended. The descent is fantastic in every direction.
