The second third of the route leads through a beautiful araucania forest. Araucanias existed since the time of the dinosaurs and only grow in a few regions in Chile/Argentina and Southeast Asia.
These prehistoric araucarias are simply wonderful to look at! They change shape depending on age. Initially still a typical fir shape, its branches later become spreading and even later the lower branches fall off and the tall trunks protrude above all other trees with an umbrella crown.
