At the heart of the bay lies the unique white sands of Ballydonegan Beach, whose striking color comes from pulverized quartzite from the nearby Allihies copper mines. As you gaze out over the Atlantic Ocean, the picturesque, colorful houses of the village, nestled among the rugged peaks of the Miskish Mountains, are visible in the distance.
